The concept of Amber is from the series of books by Roger Zelazny. Amber was one end of reality, the other end being chaos. Between them were an infinite number of shadows, which either existed, or were invented by those living in Chaos and Amber. No one seems to know the truth of this, as simply imagining a shadow takes one there, and it is impossible to know if that shadow existed prior to the imagining.

This is much like our reality. Do we create it, or discover it?
